Exposure Of An Impacted Tooth

When a tooth is impacted it may require surgical exposure to orthodontically move the tooth into its correct position. This procedure requires a small window to be made in the gum tissue to expose the impacted tooth. In some cases there may be the need to remove some bone to fully expose the impacted tooth. An orthodontic button and chain is generally bonded to the impacted tooth, allowing the orthodontist to then move the tooth into position.
